2008 New Mexico Open takes place at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Championship Golf Course

The Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino sponsored New Mexico Open is set to take place September 3rd through the 7th near Ruidoso, New Mexico. A great Pro-Am, a long drive contest and this storied tournament which is the top golf event in the state featuring 150 of the finest professional and amateur players vying for a $90,000 purse at our Championship Golf Course.

The Open dates back to 1954 when amateur Billy Moya took home top honors in the inaugural event. Since then there have been two additional amateurs and a host of professionals that have had their name etched on the New Mexico Open Trophy aside names like Lee Trevino, Paul Stankowski and Notah Begay. Proceeds from the Open and the Celebrity Pro-Am will benefit the UNM Children’s Hospital. Since 2000, the Open has generated over $124,000 for the hospital and its patients.
