Ski Apache To Open December 17
Skiers and Snowboarders Can Stay At The All-New Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort &Casino In Southern New Mexico

MESCALERO, NM – Southern New Mexico’s own winter resort, Ski Apache, is planning to begin operations on December 17. This season, Ski Apache will focus on providing the skiers’ and snowboarders’ the highest quality of snow conditions, therefore they have been continuing to make snow daily and allowing ample time for grooming the southern New Mexico slopes to perfection.
“Ski Apache is gearing up for another great season focused on providing the best snow possible. We are also thrilled the new Inn of the Mountain Gods is open so that skiers and snowboarders can have the full winter resort experience,” said Ski Apache’s new Director of Operations, Vincent Hubbard Jr.
Events currently scheduled for December include:
December 17 – Opening Day - live music and free hot chocolate Saturday and Sunday
December 17 – Discounted lift tickets available until the resort is open for full operations
Half day - $16 children, $24 adults
Full day - $24 children, $36 adults
December 23 – Holiday Costume Party - all guests dressed as their favorite holiday character receives a FREE lift

December Special – $76 room and lift ticket package, call the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino for more information. Price is per person, per night, based on double occupancy and is valid Mondays – Thursdays.
New this year is the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino, just minutes away from Ski Apache, where skiers and snowboarders can stay after hitting the slopes. The Inn will be offering vacation packages and special promotions with Ski Apache throughout the entire 2005-2007 ski season. Also available this year is Ski Apache’s new terrain park, the Boneyard, which offers jumps, rails and boxes for skiers and snowboarders looking for an additional challenge.

“We are looking forward to a fantastic winter and providing special events throughout the entire ski season. Visitors can expect to find something fun happening on a weekly basis,” said Ross Anderson, marketing manager for Ski Apache and professional speed skier. “This year I am pleased to announce the Junior Ski Program that will encourage the youth in our surrounding communities to become more involved in skiing.”
Ski Apache offers on-site ski and snowboard rentals, beginner and intermediate lessons and the Kiddie Korral, an all-day ski instruction including lift ticket and lunch for children ages 4-6. New this year is the Junior Ski Program designed to help youth build necessary skills for competitive skiing or just to have fun while learning to ski.
Ski Apache will continue with their local school Ski Program for the 2005-2007 season. Area school children can visit Ski Apache at a discounted rate. Students from the following schools are eligible to participate: Ruidoso/Ruidoso Downs, Mescalero, Capitan, Hondo Valley, Carrizozo, Corona and home-schooled students residing in those districts.
