Ski Apache Open Through March 19th
Skiers and Snowboarders Can Continue To
Enjoy Ski Apache Through the Spring Break Period
For Immediate Release
MESCALERO, NM - Southern New Mexico's own winter resort, Ski Apache, is planning on remaining open to the public through March 19, 2006. Due to a forecast cold front sweeping through the state, reversing a recent trend of spring-like weather, Ski Apache snowmaking crews predict they can successfully continue snowmaking operations. The additional snow will ensure a quality and safe ski experience for the area's Spring Break guests due to arrive shortly.
This season, Ski Apache has focused on making the most of the lowest amount of natural snowfall total since 1953. The snowmaking operations have run in excess of 70 days this season, an unprecedented situation, to supplement what Mother Nature forgot to send through the Southwestern United States.
"The Ski Apache team deserves tremendous credit. Under unusually adverse conditions they have persevered and protected our winter tourist industry for this season and future years," said Brian D. Parrish, Chief Operating Officer of the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino who oversees operations at Ski Apache.
Ski Apache will continue offering value-priced lift tickets through the remainder of the season. $40.00 adult lift tickets and $28.00 child (12 and under) lift tickets will be available for purchase through March 19.
Events and promotions currently scheduled for March include:
March 10th - 11th
Aloha Spring Break weekend featuring the music of the Hartwell Paxson Gang.
